This course advises managers and employees on the effective methods of promoting the non-profit organization through more effective event planning, social networking, campaign organization, donor relations, and different fundraising techniques.

Individuals explore the two vital steps to ethics: one, knowing what is right and, two, doing it against the demands of working in a real-world environment. Discussion centers on public trust, the related idea that our citizens demand confidence in the integrity of business, and how being accountable to these principals lays the foundation for the ethics and the laws that establish standards of behavior.

Business Writing and Grammar (written correspondence, writing emails, phone etiquette, texting)

Covers basic grammar and the principles of effective business writing in a variety of formats, including emails, reports, and letters. Attendees learn how to edit written communications for inconsistencies, eliminate exclusive language and expressions that do not adhere to the reader's level of technical expertise; also maintain a proper tone, and the use and misuse of social media for business purposes. Class curriculum is achieved using lecture, as well as individual and small group activities that enable participants to discover and practice new skills.
